Nebraska has an abundance of natural sunlight, which makes it the ideal place for solar energy production. The state currently rates ninth in the country for solar energy potential, and when combined with their wind energy resources, Nebraska has the potential to become a national leader in alternative energy production.

A free solar evaluation by Solarhome.org can be used to find the energy potential of your home. There are a host of federally sponsored incentive programs that are available to residents of Nebraska. These programs can be used to greatly offset the cost of installing solar kit for your home. In some cases, as much as 30 percent of the cost can be covered by these federal programs.

Unfortunately, there aren’t many state sponsored programs when it comes to solar power. However, they do offer many energy efficiency programs which can be taken advantage of and used to help bring down your monthly energy bills.
